ABOUT THE ARTIST + DESIGNER

Brianna Williams is a Creative Thinker with a deep passion for learning, research, and color.
She is constantly training her brain to excel at different types of creative industries.

Williams graduated from College for Creative Studies in May 2017 with her Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts, concentrating in paper collage and stone sculpture. During that time, she studied abroad in Zimbabwe where she collaborated with art students from Chinhoyi University of Technology. She explored the traditional techniques of stone sculpture and had an artist talk at the National Museum of Human Sciences.

For over a year, she worked in research & development as a color stylist lab technician at a major automotive coating company. During that time, she learned how to formally read & analyze color using CIE L*a*b* data, measurement tools like spectrophotometers, how to color match and perfect coating formulas, as well as spray and polish them on appearance panels.

Williams submerged herself back into school at CCS to achieve her Master's Degree of Fine Arts in Colors & Materials Design. There, she was able to retrain her brain from thinking like a fine artist to thinking like a designer. She found many of her fine art skills transferrable in terms of aesthetic, sample making, sketching, and prototyping. She learned to design with a research and industry-driven focus that gave her projects a deeper purpose: logic, functional & emotional attributes, and a target consumer or audience.
