CARVING STONE: ARTIST STATEMENT
Each stone I received came with character—markings that told a story, a journey of how it came to be in my possession. I saw each of these markings, not as imperfections, but as signifiers of their true personality. Thus, once I put my chisel to the surface, I found myself wanting to enhance those marks. The collective work have intricate lines and textures that interlock, serpentine, and flow around the form.
